The location of wildfires is of special concern to UAlberta field researchers.

The Office of Emergency Management within Risk Management Services has put together an Emergency Response Grid @ www.uofareports.com.  You can sign up to get alerts based upon your location.  Wildfire alerts will be included.  You have the option of sending the alerts to a phone or email address or both.

If a wildfire breaks out in your area, please report it to the particular province fire report line (see below) and if you are affected by the fire, please call it in to UAlberta Protective Services (780-492-5050).

Are you an iPhone user?  If so, the Alberta Government has released an application which is available free on iTunes. The "app" has up-to-the-minute information on fires burning in the province's forests.  The app's GPS locator allows users see their proximity to wildfires.  Immediately report a wildfire right from the application.
