The Field Research Office keeps a database of field stations/lodging for field researchers within Canada and provides a short listing. However, we have gathered additional information about each of these stations and please feel free to email or call us for assistance and we would be happy to provide you with more information.
Access the Canadian Network of Northern Research Operators Facilities to find more specifics on research facilities across Canada.
ARMAP is a suite of online, interactive maps and services that support Arctic science. It is free to launch ARMAP 2D. Once launched, you will see a menu on the right-hand side and if you click on the circle (radio button) beside arctic stations (or whatever category you wish), brown houses will appear throughout. On the left-hand menu, by clicking on "identify", and then moving curser to a particular house or field station, it will display more information (such as contact details, etc.) in the lower half of the screen.
If you are interested in field stations outside of Canada, the Organization of Biological Field Stations provides a directory.
Also, SCANNET, is a Circumarctic Network of Terrestrial Field Bases and you can check out their listing of field sites.
